Mother's day weekend camping trip Part 3

They wanted off their leases so bad

Tired Kadie

Tired Kadie Part 2

Tired Bo

Tired Bo Part 2

Our poor dogs haven't been camping in I don't know how long. Thinking a couple of years at least. Boy did they get worn out with all the hiking. I think Bo lost 10 pounds. Bo and Kadie are both water dogs and love the water. The water gives them their 2nd wind after all the hiking we did. On the way home Daddy and Sweetie Pie walked the dogs at least 3 miles down the hill. Sweetie Pie made it the whole way. While Rooster and I drove the truck. We were no dummies.
There was only a couple of things we had a problem with this weekend.
First other dogs not being on leashes!!!
Second down the dirt road where everyone is camping the speed limit sign said 5 mph not 20 people!!!

Mother's day weekend camping trip Part 4

For you mom's out there do you remember watching your kids run? I do. I still love to watch mine run and swing that one arm high and wide. Happy Mother's day everyone. See you in June.

Rooster

Here is Rooster's school picture taken last month. I'm glad I only paid $20.00 bucks for them. They are not as good as the other one taken earlier this year. Can't believe it's only a few more weeks till school ends.

Quad's May 3rd

Loaded up ready to go.
Rooster gets better every time.

Sweetie Pie can't wait to drive by herself.

Rooster loves doing circles.

Haven't been keeping up with our weekend trips lately. This weekend we took the quad's out. Mine has to be repaired, so I didn't want to drive it and blow it up more. It was suppose to rain, but it ended up going around us until we were about to leave. We had a great time. Rooster again his normal self. Scared at first then he turns into the dare devil. Looking forward to next weekend camping and fishing.

Fishing April 25

They could see the fish, but they wouldn't bite.
This is where I caught the big 6 incher!!! Wow!!! huh

This weekend we decided instead of going to the lake to go fishing we would drive a little higher to the stream. I finally caught the first fish since we have been here. I was so excited. I didn't get a picture of it because of course I left my camera in the truck.

We have a new elementary school opening for the next school year just right down the road. They just found their new principal and now started with looking for the rest of the staff. The Building Secretary just came available and I applied for it along with calling and sending e-mail's to the people I know in the office. I'm praying I get it.

UPDATE May 7 : Well I found out that they hired the building secretary and the health clerk from the middle school to go to the new elementary school. Now those two positions that I'm appling for is going to be at the middle school. Crossing my fingers.

Happy Easter !!!

Today is the day the kids have been dieing for "The hunt for the easter eggs and who finds the most" Here are a few shots of the kids. P.S. I know I already told you dad, but I really did miss my chocolate easter bunny from Dewar's today.

Egg Painting

Today was a great day to stay in and paint eggs. It rained and was cold all day. Yuck. Rooster's friend Noah came over around 11:30 a.m. and we sent him home when our friends from California arrived at around 4:00 p.m. WOW what a day. I'm thinking lately I'm babysitting without being paid. He has spent many nights after school and weekend's over here. If I send the boys to Noah's house they are back within 10 minutes sometimes with even more boys. My house might end up being the hang out. Help Me!!! Okay enough complaining. Here are a few photo's of the kids and decorating their eggs.

Drive day Part 2

Ground Hog (Marmota)
Blue Heron

Tree Squirrel

Prairie dog

This one has a story behind it : We rolled down the windows to take pictures of this huge Turkey. Then we asked Rooster to talk to it. He then goes "gobble gobble gobble" we started laughing so hard because in this picture the turkey was answering him back. So, for a minute or so Rooster and the turkey was talking "gobbling" to each other.

Here are pictures of different animals that we saw over our 3 hour drive. We always get to see deer and elk now for the other animals. We also saw a coyote, but I didn't get a shot off. I think Scott got it with his camera. I wish we saw another moose like we seen a little over a year ago. If you could help me determine what kind of bird is on the rock in the creek. It looks like a stork???

P.S. thanks dad you are right it looks like the Blue Heron. Can you tell I'm not a bird watcher?

Drive day Part 1

I just love looking at clouds
The Mesa's

Picture of another lake 20 minutes from where Scott is staying

2 bull elk's all their (30+) ladies were off to the left of this picture. We were surprised that they haven't lost their antlers yet.

We saw hundreds of deer during the drive, but this was one of the close ups.

It was such a beautiful day today that we decided to take another drive. After all the snow lately we have been getting it was nice to get out finally. Scott came over around noon, so we asked if he wanted to go. He did. So we meet him at the trailer and hit the road. Boy I took so many pictures "162" to be honest. I just love taking sceanery and animal pictures. Here are just a few sceanery and pictures of deer and bulls elks.

Fishing

Today we got up early and took the kids fishing. This lake that was closest to us wasn't frozen over, but the other lake 10 minutes away was still frozen. They are getting better at the fishing thing. No bites, but great get away.

Big plans for the month of June

I was talking small talk to my sister the other day. When the topic of plans for the summer came up. She happen to mention that the babysitter for her daughter was going to be gone the whole month of June and she didn't know what she was going to do. I only had a few things to do that month, but nothing was pressing that my niece could come here, but that wasn't in the cards. So, we both remembered that mom and dad were coming the end of May and could take me and the kids back home with them. Great idea now how to get home. On a flight home with two kids is going to be interesting. Well I booked it anyways for the 30th of June to come home. So, me and the kids will be in Bakersfield for the whole month of June. We are planning a couple of family parties that way I can see my whole family at one time because it looks like we won't be able to make it back for Thanksgiving this year. I would like to see as many friends as I can during that time. I will keep in touch.

UPDATE

After breaking another bone about 2 weeks ago. I asked for a bone density test to be done. Well the test just came back today. I have Osteopenia which is 1 step away from Osteoporosis. For the rest of my life I will need to take 1200 mg of Calcium w/carbonate and 400-800 mg of vitamin D to try and get my bones stronger. I will also have to do the bone density test every 3-5 years. For my family and friends reading this. WARNING drink milk. For I was never one to drink milk for those healthy bones. I'm going to pay for it. Which I was warned plenty of times. "MOM & DAD", but I never listened.

OOPS I did it again.

Last Friday night I was playing outback with the kids. I took a step off of the porch and not paying attention stepped right into a hole the kids created last year. I went down with a loud pop from my ankle. I thought I sprained it, but it turns out that I broke a bone. I was 1 inch away from surgery. I'm in the process of physical therapy and I am able to use the famous boot from a few years back to walk. Great that's all I need right know. My family has been really helpfull this past week. It's great to take a break from the house work and cooking.

Some guys that got stuck in the water

We went riding today. It was alot of fun again traveling thru the hills. We watched guys go thru the water and mud. Which he ended up stalling out, getting stuck and had to be towed out of the water. Fishing tomorrow without the boat because the lake is still a little frozen over, but it should be another adventure.
