Ghost Town in Manitou Springs, Co

We ended up having a few hours to kill on Saturday after dropping off the jeep. So we found a Ghost Town in Manitou Springs, Co. It was only a building with different rooms from the western days. It did have a old house next to the building that was how the rooms would of been set up during those days. Hubby and the kids got the hunt for gold. It was fun, but Rooster was afraid of the Mannequin's. Didn't get very many pictures inside because it was too dark for my camera even with the flash.

Cliff Dwellings in Manitou Springs, Co

Having a little bit of indian in my blood I thought this was the best part of the weekend trip. The Manitou Cliff Dwellings overlooks Manitou Springs, Co at the foot of Pikes Peak. It was hard to believe that the American Indian's built and lived in these from 1100 to 1300 A.D. Many families would live in each one. It was first open to the public in 1907. It was just beautiful.

Santa Workshop in Cascade, Co

Our final stop of the short weekend was to the Northpole at Santa's Workshop. The Northpole was really made out of ice. I wonder how many times they have to change the ice. It was fun for the couple of hours we got to spend there before we needed to get home. Rooster was so cute he was tall enough to ride by himself and he was so excited. Only on a couple of scary rides we went with him because they went a little fast/high for us. He wouldn't sit on Santa's lap, but Sweetie Pie did. She asked for another baby and a horse. Well Santa can bring the baby, but the horse will have to be put on hold till we get property. Then we had the 5 hour trip back home.

Ready for Thanksgiving.

Okay I'm ready to hit the road for California already. I woke up this morning looked outside on how cold it was and it was 15 degrees with the wind chill to go with it. I am very much ready for time at the beach. Don't get me wrong I love the mountains, but I'm packing already. lol Looking forward to seeing our friends, Woolgrowers, driveing to Riverside to visit family, then even more family for Thanksgiving at the beach. Our fun weekend part 2

Sunday we went to the National Forest which is only 10 minutes away. Rooster finally got to ride his quad. Man it's been a long time since he has rode. I think the last time he rode it was in our back yard at the house in California. He crashed into the fence and I think his words were "okay that's it". Up in the mountains he had lots of room, so I think he wasn't as scared. A few times we had the quad turned down to far that some of the hills he just didn't make it up and he came slidding down backwards. I was very proud of him he didn't flip out and panic. Sweetie Pie also had a great time riding with mom and dad.

Our fun weekend part 1

Saturday while dad went hunting I took the kids to Touch a Truck. It's when the kids got to see and get in all the trucks. The most memorable moment was when Sweetie Pie climbed the 6 foot ladder to get into the crain. The guy said to me jokingly that he wants to give her an application for work because she just climbed that ladder with no fear and no help. I said yeah she's my daredevil. They sure had a good time honking all the horns from the big 18 wheelers. I ended up with a head ache by the end.

Sweetie Pie's 4th Birthday

She's 4 today. Yeah. The day started off by opening a few presents, making her own cake. Then off to school. The day ended by eating pizza, and haveing cake and home made ice cream with friends. Boy was she excited. I love to watch her smile. I also want to wish a happy birthday to my good friend in California CHRIS. I know we just talked, but I do miss you guys.

Labor Day Weekend

Started off with daddy headed to the mountains to hunt for the first time here in Colorado. Me, the kids and our neighbor headed up to meet with the guys on Sunday. But, as we were headed up they were headed down. It rained that morning as they were walking in the woods and he got a little/lot wet. He plans to head up later in the week when the weather lets up. Didn't get any pictures of the hunting excursion. Monday we decided to take the fishing boat down to the lake. Had a great couple of hours fishing, but then the wind started to pick up and we decided it's time to go.

Sweetie Pie 1st day of pre-school

My gosh her first day of school. She is only going 2 days a week for 3 hours. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself. LOL I did have a little bit of tears, but she didn't. She just said "Bye Mom" and started to play. Wow was it hard leaving. Like any mother knows it's always hard at first then you can't wait till summer is over and school starts back up.

Rooster 1st day of school

Rooster 1st day of school. Can't believe he's already in 1st grade. He finally gets to go every day. It was tough in Kindergarten last year going every other day with no routine. I only got one good picture of him today while he was eating breakfast. I took my camera with us to the bus, but he started crying, hanging onto me and so I had to help him on the bus. Here we go again I wonder how long it will be this year for him to get on the bus by himself. WOW I was so looking forward to this day and already I miss my boy. Next week Sweetie pie starts school and I know I'll be crying then.

Rooster 6th Birthday

Here are a few photo's from his 6th birthday party. Grandma and Grandpa drove from California to be with the little man. He got to play golf with Grandpa, spongebob cake with family and friends then off to camping and sking at the lake. Our friends with the boat let the kids drive and boy was Rooster good at driving. He should be from driving those battery powered cars since he was almost 2. We had a great weekend. Looking forward to the next and the next.

Our summer

Along with all the sports we did with the kids. We had lots of company from California come see us can't wait till next week and hopefully in September. (hint hint) We love and miss every one, but we aren't going to give up the beautifull weather and blue skies here. NO SMOG. Here is what our weekend's are like. Tried every weekend to get away camping or 4-wheeling with the neighbors. We did get a little dirty, but the kids had a blast. Here are a few of our 4-wheeling adventures.

Kids summer

WOW what a summer. After school we had a great time. Busy Busy Busy. My son had T-Ball, Basketball, and then Archery. My daughter had T-ball and Soccer. Here are a few pictures of the kids and their sport's.

April visit from good friend

Here is a picture of a friend visiting from California. He was in Denver and thought he was just to close to not come and visit the kids. Here he is teaching the kids to play guitar and he even made up a song for them which they still sing months later. Rooster and Sweetie pie miss them so much. We love you guys.

My niece's 1st Birthday

Wow it's been about 6 months since we left California. I'm really sad to see my niece growing up so fast and missing it.
