Durango train ride
Beautiful private lake
Today was a fun day, but very long. It takes about 3 1/2 hours to ride the train from Durango to Silverton and same back. So, expect 7 hours just for the train ride. Only spent 2 hours in Silverton which we didn't really mind because we spent a few days there last year. On the way back I did spot a black bear, but didn't get the camera up in time. He was hiding behind a tree. The kids did great they got compliments again from people saying how good they were.
Drive to Durango
We took off to Durango today after my hubby decided that today was a good day to schedule Dish to come out and hook up a TV. Well they always give you a window of time this one was between 8-12. Guess what time they showed up? Toward the end of the time givin of course I was so ready to go. Here is a few pictures of the beautiful mountains.

Wow did Sweetie Pie and I have a great time at the Rifle Parade while dad and Rooster went up to the mountains. I only took pictures before we walked because there was alot of people there to hand out popsicle's to and I had to help Sweetie Pie. On Tuesday we will know if Doug Winters wow the Garfield County Sheriff race. We will be in Durango at that time, so I will have to call and find out. Boy I hope he makes it!!

Fun with the kids
We have been watching a neighbors boy these past few days. Since his mom had to go back to work at the school a few weeks before school starts. Lucky her!! We have been having fun. Her son was watching Rooster do archery yesterday and wanted to try it. So, I asked if I could take him to the mountains on the west side of us and have him shoot a little. The kids did very good shooting then we went for a drive to see the sights. I am just so mad at myself. All of us saw something HUGE fly into some trees and land and upon driving up to it. We saw a eagle sitting on the ground. As I was getting my camera up and ready to shoot I flew right over the car and off. Man I couldn't believe the wing span on this bird. Beautiful!!! I could get a shoot off until it was up and over. On our way home is when we saw the Turkey Vulture's . At least 20-25 of them. We have been seeing them for the past few days down the street from our house and was wondering what dead animal was there for them to hang around for. So, today we stopped and notice that some selfish people dumped a bunch of raw meat over the side of the mountain along with a lot of other junk from vacuum, satellite dish, BBQ ext. ext. Gross!!!

Rooster lost his tooth
Rooster!! I should of cleaned his face before taken this picture, but oh well.
Rooster lost his first tooth on his own. It took over a week to get it out. This morning around 4 a.m. Rooster came in and said that his tooth is out. The bottom two teeth were pulled out by the dentist last Feb. He's so excited that this one was done all on it's own.
Parade for the girls
The walkers
The girls got invited to be in a parade for one of our friends who is running for Sheriff of Garfield County. GO DOUG GO!!! We handed out popsicle's, fliers and magnets. Parachute is a small town west of us, so the parade only went around a block. It was so much fun we had to go around twice. lol During the second block the kids did get to ride in the back of the fire-truck. Doug also won a award for the other category with the old fire truck. He was surprised and is going to take a copy of the award and give it to the guy who owns the fire-truck. Looking forward to being in the Rifle Parade next week.
