Wow final day of school. Yeah it's over. Looking forward to a great summer with the kids. Today was so much fun. Hubby was off of work and went us to see all the fun the kids had today the final hours of school. We will miss Wamsley because next year it's Graham Mesa for the two of them. Just a walk right down the street. Too bad Sweetie Pie didn't get to do the bus experience. On another note looking forward to Grandma and Grandpa "Hotrod" being here tomorrow for a week. Can't wait to see them. Then back to California for the month of June. I've been posting so much this week that I promise I will not post any more till we get back in July. Hope to see everyone.

Rooster & Sweetie Pie "Slip & Slide"

Rooster's first two pictures out of order.
OOPS

I know I know. Post Post Post. I have been posting alot lately. You just wait till I return from California at the end of June. This is a posting of Rooster and Sweetie Pie on the slip and side on Sunday to beat the 79-85 degree heat wave we have had lately. I'm really not looking forward to going to Bakersfield "only" because of what I have heard about the heat. I heard from a friend that it was 109, but then I heard that it hasn't got that hot yet. I should say coming from someone who lived there for 37 years anything over 100 is well just plan hot. Thank GOD my sister has a pool. I have been having problems these past few days uploading pictures. I finally figured out that I had to set up a google account and if I did all five pictures at one time they were over the 8 MB limit, so I had to add 1 at a time instead of all 5 at once. What a pain. For some reason my pictures are at 4-6 MB a piece.

Sweetie Pie

The past week Sweetie Pie has asked us to take off her training wheels. We keep telling her later later. Well tonight we finally broke down and took them off. I gave dad the job of chasing.
Back when (yesterday). When she rode with training wheels she never worn the knee or elbow pads, but I wanted them on her. I wish I had enough bubble wrap to wrap her whole body. Kids always seam to surprise me though. Rooster it took us about 10-15 minutes of run up and down the street a few years back. Sweetie Pie it took about the same amount of time and she is off to the races. Very proud of both of my kids. I hope all their stepping stones go this smoothly. I know it's wishful thinking.

Rooster's Field Trip

Kids listening about the fishes
Looking at all the little fish. The bottom of these are suppose to be white.

Hiking to the Riparian Zone

I've never been here to these little falls. It was a beautiful walk.

Today the first graders went to a field trip to the fish hatchery (they only raise Rainbow Trout here) then off to a natural wildlife area known as the Riparian Zone. The kids have been studying different home, and with this experience helped them to understand what they have been reading about at school. Our group went to the fish hatchery first went inside and got to see every stage from egg to grown up. She informed us that it only takes 9 months for the trout to go from the egg to 2 foot long. WOW Next we had lunch. Finally a hike down the hill to walk thru the forest. All in all a great day.

Mother's day weekend camping trip Part 1

The campsite right next to the potty
Rooster running to the other side of the road.

Daddy fishing off a log

Rooster well you know what that is.

We had a fantastic Mother's day weekend camping with all of us (even the dogs) WOW how brave was that of us with only the cab over camper trailer. We have a great time. I again caught the only fish it was about a 8 inch trout. We did a catch and release because we really didn't want to mess with it at that time. Rooster enjoyed watching the bobber go under the road thru the piping to the other side. He kept running back and forth letting me know if it went thru or not. As you can see with his little rear in the air.

Mother's day weekend camping trip Part 2

Sweetie Pie loading wrong way
Rooster gets better every time

Sweetie Pie's thinking face.

What can I say with all the fun camping stuff we did. The kids also got to shot their bows. Rooster is ready to go hunting with dad when he turns 7. As I was watching Sweetie Pie shoot from the side I thought she was sticking out her tongue. But, taking another look at her I couldn't resist to take a shot of her. They are so cute when they are in the thinking stage.
